Gerard Pique Fined €12,000 for Conduct During Andorra vs. Malaga Match
The Competitions Committee has imposed a fine of €12,000 on Gerard Pique, president of FC Andorra. The sanction stems from an incident during his team's match against Malaga in the Spanish Second Division. The events occurred in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms at halftime and involved insults directed at the assistant referee and members of the Malaga club.
The penalty was issued under Article 114 of the Spanish Disciplinary Code, which addresses the suppression of violent and intolerant behavior. Reports indicate that Pique shouted at the refereeing team, expressing his strong displeasure. Gerard Pique also reportedly exclaimed, "It's a historic robbery," threatening to escalate the matter by adding, "I will post this on Twitter."
These outbursts coincided with the end of the first half, which saw Malaga take a two-goal lead after a late penalty. The match later ended in a 3-3 draw. Regulations stipulate economic penalties ranging from €6,001 to €18,000 for club employees and affiliates who commit similar offenses within professional sports facilities.
