Atlético Madrid Goalkeeper: "Barcelona Deserved a Red Card, We Were Better 11 Against 11"
Juan Musso, Atlético Madrid goalkeeper, expressed his regret following the 2-1 defeat to Barcelona on Matchday 30 of the Spanish League, affirming that his team delivered a great performance despite the loss.
Musso explained that his team was the better side for significant periods of the match, stating that the sending off of his teammate Nico Gonzalez was a turning point that affected the course of the game. He added that Gerard Martin, in his opinion, also deserved a red card.
The Argentine goalkeeper stated in media remarks after the match: "The team played a wonderful match, and we were better than them, but the red card punished us. I think they also deserved a red card. You can watch the replay, and then the match could have been fairer."
The 31-year-old added: "I believe we were the better side when we were playing 11 against 11. We have worked hard to get to where we are now. In January, the team faced harsh criticism, and now we aspire to reach the Champions League semi-finals and win the King's Cup for the fans."
It is worth noting that Atlético Madrid will once again face their opponent Barcelona next Wednesday (20:00 GMT+1) at the Camp Nou, for the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
