AS: Rabat's Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium a Potential Host for Spain-Argentina 'Finalissima'
The Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Rabat's Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium is a candidate to host the "Finalissima" match between Spain and Argentina, after Qatar was unable to organize the encounter due to the current situation in the Middle East.
The source indicated that stadium capacity and the specified date are key factors in determining the match's location. Spain national team coach, Luis de la Fuente, suggested changing the venue, stating: "The solution, as I understand it, is to look for another venue as long as it's not possible to play there in Qatar, if that's possible."
The newspaper continued: "This condition opens the door to moving the match outside Qatar, despite the limited realistic options, as with 88,800 tickets already sold, any alternative stadium would require a large capacity."
"AS" clarified that the city of Rabat represents another viable alternative, stating that moving the "Finalissima" to Morocco is not improbable. It noted that Rabat's Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, which opened in 2025, has a capacity of nearly 70,000 spectators, making it one of the options under consideration.
The same source confirmed that several stadiums are candidates to host the match between Spain and Argentina, including the Santiago Bernabéu and Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid (Spain), and MetLife Stadium in New York-New Jersey (United States).
