Official 2026 World Cup Poster Unveiled in Collage Style
FIFA unveiled the official poster for the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday, March 3. This artistic step highlights the visual identity of the anticipated football event. Designed in a collage style, the artwork symbolizes the unity and universality of the game, serving as a prelude to its inclusion among the sixteen host city posters for the tournament, which will take place across North America.
Embodying cross-border artistic collaboration, three artists contributed to the creation of this poster: Canadian Carson Ting, Mexican Minerva GM, and American Hank Willis Thomas. The artwork features a footballer at its center, representing the global nature of the sport. This final piece aims to evoke the connections that unite all individuals involved with the competition, while emphasizing the cultural diversity of the host nations and communities.
In an official statement, FIFA stressed that “this outstanding work celebrates the spirit, passion, and unity integral to this global event.” The organization noted that placing the player at the heart of the artistic composition vividly embodies the universality of football. This release completes the full collection of official posters, joining the previously unveiled artworks for the host cities to enhance the tournament's overall visual identity.
This unveiling coincides with ongoing preparations for the first 48-team World Cup edition. So far, 42 national teams have secured their spots in the finals. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on June 11, with the opening match featuring Mexico against South Africa at the Estadio Azteca, as part of the expanded competition.
