Wazan: "My Goal is to Excel with Ajax Youth Rather Than Sit on First-Team Bench; Opportunity Will Come Automatically"
Moroccan Abdellah Wazan has affirmed that his opportunity to join Ajax Amsterdam's first team is drawing nearer, emphasizing that playing matches with the youth team holds greater importance than sitting on the bench with the senior squad.
Speaking to Dutch website "soccernews", Wazan stated: "I feel my opportunity is closer and the step is no longer too big, because of the matches I play with the Ajax youth team. My opportunity becoming closer is due to these matches. These games are more important than sitting on the bench with the first team."
He continued: "My goal now is to become more stable and excel both offensively and defensively, to score goals and contribute to creating them. The more stable I become, the Ajax first-team staff will give me more confidence, and then the opportunity will come automatically."
Wazan also indicated that he is not concerned about the position he plays, as long as he is working for the team. He stressed the importance of distributing play and utilizing his abilities in ball control and managing attacks.
