Osasuna Decides to Join Legal Proceedings Regarding El Sadar Incidents Against Real Madrid
Spanish club Osasuna has announced its decision to join the ongoing legal proceedings aimed at clarifying the facts surrounding incidents that occurred inside El Sadar Stadium last Saturday, following their La Liga match against Real Madrid. This move primarily seeks to ensure the defense of the rights of the club's members and fans, while emphasizing the necessity of uncovering all circumstances related to the confrontation.
The club clarified its intention to submit a formal request to participate in the judicial process as a private prosecution, simultaneously declaring its commitment to take strong action against any form of insults, assaults, or violent behavior. In this context, the management stressed that it would not hesitate to protect the rights of its affiliates if it is determined that they were subjected to any violations during these altercations, affirming that fan safety remains a top priority for the institution.
The club's management had previously decided to form a special committee tasked with investigating the nature of the altercations witnessed within the stadium's premises. However, these efforts have faced procedural difficulties due to the Spanish security authorities' refusal to date to grant the club access to surveillance camera recordings. Currently, the club's authority is limited to accessing images captured within its private facilities only, while cameras installed in the corridors and stands remain under the control and supervision of the Spanish National Police.
