
CAF Disciplinary Committee Yet to Convene on Al Ahly vs. AS FAR Incident
A prominent source within the Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed a significant surprise to "Al Botola," stating that the Disciplinary Committee has not yet set a date for its meeting to discuss the Al Ahly vs. AS FAR match incident.
The source further told "Al Botola" that the committee has not even formed the body that will convene to discuss the match file and the penalties to be applied according to the disciplinary regulations. They added that all that has happened in recent days is the sending of clarification requests to both clubs to comment on what was mentioned in the observers' reports.
The match between AS FAR and Egypt's Al Ahly, which took place on February 15 as part of the sixth and final round of the CAF Champions League group stage, witnessed unfortunate incidents that concluded with the arrest of 35 Egyptian fans.
Egyptian media sources reported that the fans were apprehended after the match at Cairo Stadium due to riotous acts witnessed during the game.
African football circles are awaiting the decisions of the CAF Disciplinary Committee regarding the events that occurred during the match between Egypt's Al Ahly and AS FAR, hosted at Cairo International Stadium, in the sixth and final round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
