Despite Temporary Suspension, Prestianni Travels to Madrid with Teammates as Benfica Appeals Sanction
Portuguese newspaper "A Bola" has confirmed that Argentine player Gianluca Prestianni will be included in Benfica's squad for their match against Real Madrid in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff round, which qualifies for the round of 16.
The same source indicated that Prestianni will accompany the Benfica delegation to the Spanish capital, Madrid, despite being temporarily suspended by UEFA due to a possible racist gesture towards Brazilian player Vinicius.
The newspaper clarified that Benfica officials are optimistic about having the player's suspension lifted following their appeal against UEFA's decision. For this reason, he will travel with the team to Madrid for the return leg against Vinicius's teammates.
Real Madrid will host Benfica the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, at 20:00 GMT, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
