Benatia: Habib Beye is Committed and Has Clear Goals
Former Moroccan international and Olympique Marseille Sporting Director, Mehdi Benatia, has revealed the reasons behind choosing Senegalese Habib Beye as the club's new coach, succeeding Italian Roberto De Zerbi.
Speaking on the club's official website, Benatia stated: "The selection of Habib Beye as the new coach of Olympique Marseille aligns perfectly with our desire to bring in a coach who possesses the necessary leadership to take charge of a team that clearly needs revitalization after a difficult period on the pitch."
He added: "From our very first discussions, he appeared extremely committed and completely focused on the future, with clear goals for everyone: a swift return to winning ways, aiming for a podium finish in Ligue 1, and attempting to win the Coupe de France to gift the Marseille fans a title."
Habib Beye previously coached French clubs Red Star and Stade Rennais, leading the former for three seasons and spending one year at the helm of Rennes. He is now preparing for his third coaching experience.
It is worth noting that Habib Beye also played for Olympique Marseille for four seasons, in addition to representing other prominent clubs such as English sides Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
