Official: Senegalese Habib Beye Named New Olympique Marseille Coach, Replaces De Zerbi
French club Olympique Marseille announced on Wednesday evening the appointment of Senegalese Habib Beye, 48, as the team's new head coach.
Beye's appointment comes as he takes over from Italian Roberto De Zerbi, who decided to depart last week after managing the team since July 2024.
Habib Beye previously coached French clubs Red Star FC and Stade Rennais. He led Red Star for three seasons and spent one year at the helm of Rennes. He is now preparing for his third coaching experience.
It is worth noting that Habib Beye previously played for Olympique Marseille for four seasons. He also represented other prominent clubs, including English sides Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
