Flick After Girona Defeat: "We Are Not at Our Best, and There's a Long Way to Go to Compete for the Top Spot"

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expressed his dissatisfaction following his team's 2-1 defeat to Girona in La Liga, asserting that "Barça" was not at its best, particularly during the second half.

The German coach avoided delving into the details of refereeing decisions, stating simply: "I don't want to talk about this matter; everyone saw what happened with the second goal." He then added: "Was it a foul or not? You all saw the incident, and there's no need to say more."

The Catalan club's coach acknowledged that the team is going through a difficult period, saying: "We are not at our best, and there's a long way to go to compete for the top spot." Flick also pointed to the fatigue affecting the players, explaining that the team lacks physical and mental freshness and needs "greater desire to win, better control of matches, and fewer mistakes."

Flick affirmed that the responsibility is collective, adding: "There are no excuses; we did not do our job as we should, and we must improve." The "Blaugrana" coach noted that Barcelona missed several opportunities in the first half, while Girona capitalized on their superiority in the second half, especially in attacking transitions, indicating that the team's positioning, particularly in midfield, was not good.
