Juan Bernat Presented as New Eibar Player
Eibar officially presented their new player, Juan Bernat, at the Ipurua stadium, four days after the club announced his signing.
Bernat expressed his delight at "feeling like a footballer again" after a prolonged absence from competitive play. He stated, "I wanted to feel like a footballer again, and Eibar has given me this opportunity. I am very grateful and hope to be ready as soon as possible." He indicated his aim to be available for coach San José in approximately two weeks, acknowledging the necessity of group training despite his current physical fitness.
Bernat clarified that he underwent a second thigh surgery at the end of last season while playing for Getafe, which had sidelined him for an extended period.
In the same context, Eibar's Sporting Director, César Palacios, lauded the player's high caliber, confirming that the agreement for his free transfer was reached swiftly. Palacios remarked, "Few players who have worn this club's shirt possess his track record."
It is worth noting that Juan Bernat previously played for major clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, reflecting his extensive experience in European football before his stints with Getafe and Eibar.
