Moroccan international Brahim Diaz contributed to Real Madrid's 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano in their La Liga Matchday 22 encounter on Sunday.
Diaz entered the game as an early substitute in the 10th minute, replacing his injured teammate Jude Bellingham. Meanwhile, fellow Moroccan Ilias Akhomach started for Rayo Vallecano.
Just five minutes after his introduction, Diaz provided the assist for the opening goal, scored by his teammate Vinicius Junior. Rayo Vallecano then equalized in the 49th minute through Jorge de Frutos.
Real Madrid managed to secure the winning points from Rayo Vallecano after Diaz earned a penalty in "injury time." His teammate Kylian Mbappé then converted it into a goal in the 90+10th minute.
Following this result, Real Madrid sits second in La Liga with 54 points, one point behind leaders Barcelona (55 points). Rayo Vallecano remains in 16th position with 23 points.
