Regragui: "Now We Know the Path to the Final and Must Not Give Up"

National coach Walid Regragui expressed his profound sadness after losing the Africa Cup of Nations final, affirming that the Moroccan national team was very close to winning the title, and that only small details decided the outcome.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Regragui said: "It's painful. We were a minute or less away from becoming African champions, and this is football. It was a balanced match, and we knew it would be decided by small details, just like a boxing match. In finals, you have to capitalize on the chances you get."

The "Atlas Lions" coach added: "I don't think we've ever been closer to the Africa Cup title than today. We will come back stronger, God willing, and now we know the path to reach the final. It's been 22 years since we reached a final; we have shown a beautiful image of Moroccan football, and we must not give up."

Regragui concluded his statements by discussing the future of the national team, saying: "We have a young generation that will learn from this experience, and I am sure they will bring home the trophy in the future."

It is worth noting that the Senegal national team defeated Morocco in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, claiming the continental title for the second time in its history.
