Osimhen on Morocco Clash: "We Feel No Pressure and Showed the World Against Algeria We're Ready to Compete for the Title"
Victor Osimhen, the star player for the Nigerian national team, affirmed that his teammates feel no pressure whatsoever ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash against Morocco, highlighting that his team possesses exceptional players.
In an interview with "CBS Sports Golazo," Osimhen addressed whether the Nigerian team felt pressure before facing Morocco, stating: "The Moroccan national team is also among the favorites. I mean, they have a very strong squad and talented players, but I believe we are also one of the most formidable teams in this tournament, given the amount of talent we possess within the group."
He continued: "But I assure you, there is no pressure within the camp. There is absolutely no pressure, and we don't discuss it among ourselves. We approach each match individually. We faced a big team like Algeria and delivered a performance that showed the whole world we are ready to compete for this title. But as I always say, it won't be easy."
He added: "Of course, the Moroccans will play in front of tens of thousands of their fans, which is an advantage for them. But on the other hand, many of us have played in stadiums with over 80 or 90 thousand spectators. So, for me personally, I feel no pressure at all."
He concluded: "I don't think about it; I just focus on my team, and when match day comes, we will give everything we have and hope to secure the win. It won't be an easy game, but I believe we have a chance."
