Senegal's Gana Gueye: "Morocco's Organization and Pitches Elevated AFCON Competition, Limited Surprises"

Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye expressed his great satisfaction with the quality of organization in the Kingdom of Morocco, emphasizing that the infrastructure had a clear impact on the level of competition in the tournament.

The Senegalese midfielder stated in media remarks, "As players, we are satisfied with what is happening. There are good pitches, and I believe this immediately raised the level of competition."

He added, "If you noticed, there were no surprises; the big teams were the ones that qualified. This is because when the pitches are good, the playing surface is excellent, and the organization is good, the technical difference becomes immediately apparent."

Gueye continued, "I believe the eight teams that reached the quarter-finals are among the best teams in Africa. The competition is ongoing, and we hope to see beautiful matches in the semi-finals and final as well."

The Egyptian national team will face their Senegalese counterparts next Wednesday, starting at 6:00 PM, at the Grand Stade de Tanger, as part of the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
