Enrique: "Hakimi Not at His Best, But It's Important for Us That He Plays"
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique believes Achraf Hakimi has not yet reached his peak performance level with the Moroccan national team, noting that his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations remains crucial for him to regain his rhythm.
Speaking at the press conference ahead of Monday's (21:10 GMT+1) French Cup match against Paris FC, Enrique stated: "Hakimi is fine, and he played the last match completely. He is present in the semi-final, and this is important for us."
He continued: "There's a difference between recovering from an injury and being 100% physically ready. Hakimi is not yet at 100% of his best level, but it's important for us that he participates in play."
Enrique concluded by saying: "When Hakimi returns to Paris, it will be important for him to be in the best possible condition."
Hakimi and the Moroccan national team are preparing to play in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final next Wednesday against Nigeria, kicking off at 9:00 PM (21:00 GMT+1) at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
