Stuttgart Coach: "We Hope El Khannouss Wins the Africa Cup of Nations and This Experience Gives Him a Strong Boost for the Rest of the Season"
Sebastian Hoeneß, the coach of German club Stuttgart, confirmed that he is in constant communication with his Moroccan player Bilal El Khannouss, expressing his wish for El Khannouss to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.
Hoeneß stated in a media interview: "We are in constant contact (with El Khannouss). I congratulated him, and I hope he returns soon carrying the trophy."
Should Morocco advance far in the tournament, El Khannouss might miss three additional matches for Stuttgart. However, the coach believes the benefits are significant, stating: "It rarely happens in a footballer's career to play in a major tournament in their home country. I hope he experiences many positive moments that give him a strong boost for the rest of the season."
El Khannouss, along with the Moroccan national team, is preparing to play in the Africa Cup quarter-final against Cameroon, next Friday (20:00 GMT +1), at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
