Ammouta Reveals Details of Wydad Departure: "Irresponsible Actions by Some Officials Behind the Decision"

National coach Hussein Ammouta has revealed new details regarding his departure from Wydad AC, asserting that the separation was not solely due to his delayed return after attending the World Cup, but also because of what he described as irresponsible actions by some officials within the club.

Speaking in an interview on the "Ya Arab" podcast, Ammouta stated, "I received an invitation from the World Cup organizing committee, which is a great honor for any Moroccan coach. I was representing Moroccan coaches and Moroccan fans at the opening match, and Wydad supporters should have been happy about my presence there."

He added, "I traveled for only seven days during the team's break and was delayed by two days because I couldn't find a return flight. Despite this, training sessions were scheduled as light sessions overseen by my assistants. However, the Wydad president insisted on my return, yet I was unable to find a flight at that time due to travel difficulties."

Ammouta explained that he was asked to leave immediately upon his return, adding, "I left without any problem, but I don't believe the real reason was just the delay. There are other issues and a lot of talk, and unfortunately, some irresponsible actions by certain officials."

It is worth noting that Hussein Ammouta was dismissed from his coaching role at Wydad AC in 2022 by the former president of the Red Team, Said Naciri, due to his presence in Qatar to analyze World Cup matches.
