Real Madrid Ends Winless Streak with Three Goals Against Bilbao, Led by Mbappé
Real Madrid returned to winning ways in La Liga, securing an important 3-0 victory against hosts Athletic Bilbao this Wednesday evening. The match, an early fixture for Matchday 19, took place at San Mamés stadium.
The "Merengues" took just seven minutes to open the scoring, courtesy of their French star Kylian Mbappé. Mbappé embarked on a brilliant solo run from midfield, culminating in a powerful shot that Athletic's goalkeeper Unai Simón couldn't stop. Real Madrid then doubled their lead in the 41st minute when Eduardo Camavinga headed home following an assist from Mbappé.
Mbappé found the net again in the 59th minute, scoring his second goal of the match and Real Madrid's third.
This win marks Real Madrid's first after three consecutive draws in La Liga, boosting their points total to 36 and placing them second, just one point behind leaders Barcelona (37 points). Athletic Bilbao, meanwhile, remains in eighth position with 20 points.
