Neuer on Germany Return: "I Retired Intentionally, My Focus is on Bayern Munich"

Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich's goalkeeper, has once again ruled out any possibility of returning to the German national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.

Many fans and critics had called for Neuer's return to the German squad following Marc-André ter Stegen's injury. However, the 2014 World Cup-winning goalkeeper affirmed that he does not intend to reverse his decision to retire from international football.

Speaking to Sky, Neuer said: "The truth is that I retired intentionally, and my full focus is on the club."

Regarding his future with Bayern Munich, he added: "What's important is how I feel in the second half of the season. During the international break, I will think about how things are going, and I am also excited to see what the future holds."
