Giroud: 'I Try to Advise Igamane, He's a Good Listener with Great Potential and a Natural Goalscorer'
Lille forward Olivier Giroud has lauded the potential of his Moroccan teammate Hamza Igamane, stating that the young player possesses significant room for improvement.
In a media statement, Giroud said: “Hamza has significant room for development. I try to offer him advice and speak with him; he’s a good listener and very respectful. He tends to be quiet and doesn't talk much, a bit shy, but once he steps onto the pitch, he truly looks happy, and that’s noticeable because he is very talented.”
He continued: “He knows how to do many things. He still has great potential for growth. I’m happy for him; he’s part of a fantastic generation with the Moroccan national team and will soon participate in the World Cup. What he achieved with Rangers was not simple; he was influential because he scored goals.”
Giroud concluded: “There’s a good understanding between us, and we try to find each other on the pitch, as well as with Oukon, which is excellent for the coach. His presence in the penalty area adds significant attacking weight. Perhaps he is less mobile in midfield compared to Oukon, but he possesses the ability to quickly get into shooting positions because he is, after all, a natural goalscorer.”
