
Royal Army Group: Al Ahly Tops Standings After 4-1 Victory Over JS Kabylie
Al Ahly of Egypt commenced their journey in the group stage of the CAF Champions League with a commanding 4-1 victory over their Algerian visitors, JS Kabylie. The match, part of the first round, took place at Cairo International Stadium.
Al Ahly scored two goals within a three-minute span, netted by Mahmoud Trezeguet in the 36th minute and Mohamed Sherif in the 39th minute.
In the second half, the visitors narrowed the gap with a goal attributed to Al Ahly's goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, who mistakenly scored an own goal in the 57th minute. However, Trezeguet emerged once more to score Al Ahly's third goal in the 84th minute.
In the second round, Al Ahly will travel to Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, to face Royal Army next Friday at 20:00 (GMT+1).
