Nabil Maaloul Predicts Morocco's Arab Cup Semi-Final Exit Against Qatar, Tips Tunisia for Title
Tunisian coach Nabil Maaloul predicted the elimination of the Moroccan reserve national team from the semi-finals of the Arab Cup, while tipping Tunisia to win the title. Speaking in an interview on Qatar's Al Kass channel during the "My Predictions" segment, Maaloul said: "It is difficult to choose between Morocco and Qatar to reach the Arab Cup semi-finals, but I will choose Qatar because Moroccan clubs have somewhat declined in level."
He added: "We see that Wydad and Raja's performance in the CAF Champions League has declined in recent years, while RS Berkane has shone a little in the CAF Confederation Cup."
Maaloul continued: "We commend the Moroccan national teams for achieving a historic accomplishment in the 2022 World Cup, as well as the Moroccan U20 national team's triumph in the World Cup."
Maaloul affirmed that his choice of Qatar to reach the Arab Cup semi-finals was not a compliment, stating: "If the Moroccan senior national team had participated in the tournament, I would say they would be the winners of the cup."
The same speaker also nominated Tunisia and Egypt to reach the Arab Cup final, predicting that the "Eagles of Carthage" would claim the title over the "Pharaohs."
