Officially: Real Madrid Announce Valverde and Courtois Injury Nature Without Specifying Absence Duration
Real Madrid announced on Monday the nature of injuries sustained by their Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde, without specifying the duration of their absence.
Both Courtois and Valverde picked up injuries towards the end of Real Madrid's match against Rayo Vallecano. The game, which took place last Sunday as part of La Liga's twelfth round, ended in a goalless draw.
The Royal Club published a statement on its official website, which read: "Following tests carried out today on our player Thibaut Courtois by Real Madrid's medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the long adductor muscle in his right leg. His situation is being monitored."
The club added: "Following tests carried out today on our player Fede Valverde by Real Madrid's medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the semimembranosus muscle in his right leg. His situation is being monitored."
