Abdelwahed Zumrat announced his resignation as coach of Ittihad Touarga, protesting the refereeing injustice his team suffered against Nahdat Zemamra in the eighth round of the Botola Pro Inwi.

Speaking at the press conference following Ittihad Touarga's 2-1 defeat, Zumrat stated: "I believe there are matters being orchestrated behind the scenes, because we have never discussed refereeing before."

He continued: "We have seen conspiracies against Ittihad Touarga, and based on that, I will submit my resignation. I am a principled person and I don't know anything outside of this framework."

Zumrat concluded: "In previous matches, there was a penalty against Maghreb Fez, and when I went to inquire with the referee, he told me that 'VAR' decides, meaning there are people controlling the refereeing decisions. The same thing happened against Ittihad Yacoub El Mansour."

Notably, the match witnessed dramatic events, most notably the expulsion of both Ittihad Touarga goalkeepers, which forced defender Youssef Qajjaï to take over in goal. He excelled, managing to save a penalty kick taken by Nahdat Zemamra.
