Guimaraes: "Brazil are favorites to win any tournament they participate in, and no one carries five stars on their chest like us"
Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes believes his national team enters any competition as a favorite to win, asserting that the "Seleção" are capable of securing their sixth World Cup title at the 2026 tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The Newcastle United player stated in a press conference: "Brazil are favorites to win any tournament they participate in, and no one carries five stars on their chest like us."
He added: "Anything can happen on the pitch. I believe Brazil will always be among the favorites to win the title, but that doesn't mean the strongest favorite will ultimately win."
Guimaraes concluded: "We are here to give our best, and if things go well, we will win the title. We are focusing on each match individually."
It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team will face their Brazilian counterparts at MetLife Stadium next Saturday (23:00 GMT+1), as part of the first round of Group C in the 2026 World Cup.
