“Morocco Possesses Top-Tier Players, Can Go Far in World Cup,” Says Norway's Berg
Norwegian international Patrick Berg has praised the Moroccan national team's performance following a friendly match between the two sides on Sunday, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Berg asserted that the "Atlas Lions" possess a group of players capable of delivering a strong showing at the World Cup.
Speaking to the media, Berg explained that the encounter was largely evenly matched, though Morocco held a slight advantage in the first half, thanks to the speed and efficiency displayed by their players on counter-attacks.
The Norwegian player stated: "I think it was a fairly even game in the end, but in the first half, I felt Morocco was the better team, and they were very dangerous on counter-attacks."
He added: "The Moroccan national team includes distinguished, top-tier players, so I believe they will have a good World Cup."
Berg also commented on his own country's prospects in the World Cup finals, noting that Norway also possesses a strong squad and aims for an honorable participation following their return to the global tournament.
He continued: "We are happy to be in the World Cup after a long absence, and we will strive to compete and go as far as possible."
The Norwegian international concluded by commending Morocco's achievement in the previous edition, asserting that the "Atlas Lions" possess all the qualities that will allow them to replicate their brilliance. He added: "Morocco had a fantastic tournament in the last edition, and once again, they have a strong team, so I see them capable of going far in this tournament."
