Spanish newspaper Marca reported that the massive offer Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez spoke about for a major star could be related to Atlético Madrid player Julián Álvarez.
Pérez had previously promised to submit an official offer on Tuesday to a competing Champions League club for a major star, for a sum of no less than €150 million during the summer transfer window.
The newspaper clarified that Julián Álvarez might be Pérez's primary target in the summer transfer market, especially after ruling out the possibility of signing Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, and Paris Saint-Germain duo Vitinha and João Neves.
Marca, however, ruled out the possibility of Atlético Madrid agreeing to sell their Argentine forward to their neighbor Real Madrid, or even to Barcelona, who had expressed interest in signing the player weeks ago.
