Fadlo After Berkane Defeat: 'We Dominated the Match... I Apologize to Fans, But Title Race Not Over Yet'
David Fadlo, coach of Raja Club Athletic, insisted that his team was the better side during their match against RS Berkane, despite suffering a one-nil defeat in their Week 22 fixture of the Professional League.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Fadlo stated: "We entered the match with a clear plan to impose our playing style and control possession. I believe that for most of the game, things went according to our plan, as we were the dominant side."
He added: "We knew that the opponent's most dangerous weapons were quick transitions and long balls, so we pressed high and recovered many second balls. Despite this, we ultimately lost the match, which is painful given what the team showed on the field."
He continued: "In the second half, we dominated the match even more, but we lacked effectiveness in front of goal. It's difficult to accept defeat when you control the flow of play, especially when you concede a goal from a throw-in, which has happened to us in important matches this season."
The Raja coach explained: "I apologize to the fans who attended and supported us wonderfully. The players gave their all, but we are required to correct our mistakes, because a team competing for the title cannot concede goals in the same way on multiple occasions."
Fadlo affirmed that Raja's chances of competing for the title are still alive, emphasizing: "I still fully believe in our chances in the league. The gap is still narrow, and there are many matches left. I trust the players 100 percent, and I believe that the title will not be decided until the final rounds of the season."
He concluded by saying: "We managed to reach the opponent's areas and create a number of chances, but our problem was with the final touch and attacking efficiency. I ask Raja fans to continue supporting the team during this crucial stage, because we are still in the race and will continue to work to achieve our goals."
