Iñigo Martínez on Life in Saudi Arabia: "Ronaldo and Mané Live in Palaces; Sometimes We Must Dress More Modestly"
Spanish defender Iñigo Martínez, an Al Nassr player, has spoken about the daily life of foreign players in Saudi Arabia, confirming that most live within gated residential compounds that offer a lifestyle similar to Europe.
Martínez explained that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo and Senegalese Sadio Mané reside in private palaces, while most other players live within residential compounds that include various facilities and services.
The 35-year-old said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper "Sport": "Cristiano and Sadio live in palaces and spend their lives there. As for us, we live in residential compounds, which are European-style neighborhoods. They include schools, swimming pools... everything you can imagine. If we go out, it's usually for dinner or to stroll in a shopping mall."
Regarding social laws in Saudi Arabia, the Spanish defender clarified that restrictions primarily affect women, adding: "There are places I can go wearing a short-sleeved shirt, shorts, and light shoes, while there are other places where more modest clothing must be worn."
It is worth noting that Martínez joined Al Nassr in the summer of 2025, signing a one-season contract (until June 30, 2026), with an option for an additional season.
