Benshrifa: Wydad Showed Character Against Hassania Agadir; Matches Not Decided by Talk
Hamouda Benshrifa, coach of Wydad AC, affirmed that his team secured a difficult but deserved victory against Hassania Agadir in a match that ended 3-2, as part of Week 21 of the Professional League.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Benshrifa stated: “The match was not easy because we faced a team that plays modern football and created several problems for us throughout the encounter. Even in the first leg, they were close to equalizing, but thankfully, the work we put in was evident on the pitch.”
He added: “I thank all the players for their efforts, because matches are not decided by talk but by performance on the field. The most important thing for us is to achieve victory, especially since Wydad showed its character in a difficult match and managed to handle its various aspects.”
The coach of the Red Team continued: “At this stage of the season, the squad must be managed rationally, as we cannot risk certain players, especially with the pressure of matches. A player could get injured in a few minutes and be lost for the rest of the season, so we try to maintain balance within the squad.”
Benshrifa clarified that Wydad players understand the magnitude of the responsibility placed upon them, adding: “The international players know very well the value of the jersey they wear, and Wydad is a big team always required to play for victory. It is true that there are some challenges, but we try to overcome them through daily work and focus.”
He also praised the significant role played by the Wydad fans, stating: “Wydad’s supporters give us a great morale boost, and even in moments of pressure and criticism, we try to remain focused on our work. These positive results give us confidence, but we know that the upcoming matches will be even more difficult.”
