Maghreb Fez Defeat to Ittihad Tanger Fuels Title Race
Maghreb Fez's two-goal defeat against visitors Ittihad Tanger in the 21st round of the professional league has ignited the battle for the top spot.
The Fez team's points tally remains at 41 at the top of the standings, just one point ahead of second-placed FAR Rabat (40 points) and two points clear of third-placed Raja Casablanca (39 points). Meanwhile, Wydad Casablanca sits in fourth place with 37 points, level with RS Berkane.
Raja Casablanca will have an opportunity to climb to the top of the standings if they win their match tomorrow, Sunday, against Olympique Dcheira. A victory would raise their tally to 42 points, capitalizing on the postponement of FAR Rabat's match due to their commitment to playing in the CAF Champions League final.
For their part, Wydad Casablanca aims to reduce the gap with the leading teams when they host Hassania Agadir this evening, Saturday. A win would raise their tally to 40 points and bring them closer to Maghreb Fez.
