Sundowns' Zwane: "We Know What Awaits Us Against AS FAR, Our Goal is to Lift the Trophy"

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane affirmed that his team is well aware of what awaits them in the CAF Champions League final second leg against AS FAR, emphasizing that their sole objective is to win the title.

Speaking to South African outlet 'kickoff', Zwane stated: “Before playing this final, we know what awaits us and we know what we have to do. The only goal is to lift the trophy at the end of the tournament.”

The South African midfielder added that mental strength is one of the squad's most prominent attributes, confirming that the players support each other through various circumstances. He remarked: “What I have learned about my teammates is that we are mentally strong and we support each other.”

Zwane also spoke about the team's demanding schedule throughout the season, explaining that frequent travel and playing matches with short rest periods demonstrated the team's character and ability to handle pressure.

In this regard, he said: “We played matches across different parts of the continent, and we would return to play again just a few days later. This reflects the mental strength we possess.”

The player concluded his remarks by praising his teammates, stating: “I salute the players for what they have delivered.”

Sundowns will visit AS FAR next Sunday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with the match kicking off at 8:00 PM. The South African club secured a one-goal advantage in the first leg.
