Morocco in Pot 1: FIFA Reveals Rankings Ahead of U-17 Women's World Cup Draw
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced on Wednesday the seeding for the teams participating in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2026 draw. The draw is scheduled to take place on Thursday at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich, with the "Atlas Lionesses" (Morocco) placed in Pot 1 alongside other prominent international teams.
Morocco will be in Pot 1 as the host nation, joined by Spain, North Korea, Japan, the United States, and Canada. These teams are the highest-ranked according to FIFA's latest classifications, which are based on the results of the last five editions of the tournament.
Pot 2 includes Brazil, Mexico, Germany, France, and China, in addition to two African teams that will be determined later and designated as "CAF." Pot 3 features New Zealand, Poland, and Chile, along with two slots that are yet to be decided.
Pot 4 comprises Venezuela, Norway, Samoa, Australia, Puerto Rico, and Argentina. This edition of the tournament will feature 24 teams, divided into six groups of four.
The tenth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup is expected to be held in Morocco from October 17 to November 7, 2026.
