Ez Abde's Brilliance Impresses Flick, Puts Him Back on Barcelona's Radar
Moroccan international Abde Ezzalzouli has continued to impress this season, establishing himself as Real Betis's star player in what is considered the best season of his professional career. His performances have caught the eye of Barcelona coach Hansi Flick.
According to "Què t'hi jugues" on Cadena SER Catalunya radio, Flick was particularly impressed by the Moroccan winger's performance, especially after the match between Betis and Barcelona at Camp Nou, where Ezzalzouli was a key attacking threat for the Andalusian side.
Although the Moroccan player has delivered more brilliant performances this season, his display against Barcelona left a positive impression on the Catalan club's technical staff. He clearly demonstrated his attacking prowess, forcing French defender Jules Kounde to receive a yellow card and even finding the net against goalkeeper Juan Garcia with a superb cross-shot, though the goal was disallowed for offside.
Earlier, Mundo Deportivo had reported that Ezzalzouli's name was on a list of left-wingers being closely monitored by Barcelona ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The Moroccan star has posted impressive numbers this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 13 assists in 42 matches, accumulating over 3,000 minutes of play, despite missing several weeks due to his participation with the Moroccan national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Moroccan player's contract with Real Betis extends until 2029, with a release clause valued at 60 million euros. Barcelona still retains 20% of his economic rights, having signed him in 2021.
