Ramos Leads Advanced Talks for Sevilla Takeover
Player Sergio Ramos is engaged in serious and ongoing negotiations with an investment fund aimed at strengthening his influence within Spanish club Sevilla through a potential acquisition. Current information reveals that the in-depth financial and legal due diligence phase was completed in mid-March, following the signing of a letter of intent between the two parties last January. This step could significantly alter the administrative structure of the Andalusian club.
The Spanish defender expressed optimism regarding the progress of these negotiations. Sergio Ramos said, “In a few weeks or months, there will be updates, and we hope they will be the results we all wish for.” For his part, former sporting director Monchi confirmed the player's desire to take on a leading role in the next phase, stating, “I know that – I don't know if it's as president – he wants to be at the heart of the decision-making process for the club's future.”
Current Sevilla president José María del Nido Carrasco clarified his explicit position regarding potential changes in the club's ownership, confirming that he would not remain in his position if the purchase process is successfully completed. In this regard, José María del Nido Carrasco commented on his future, saying, “If the club is bought, I imagine I will not continue.” These developments come at a time when the club is seeking to organize its administrative and financial affairs for the upcoming seasons.
Despite circulating news about a potential return of some administrative figures, Monchi indicated that there are no official offers for him to return to the club at present. The revelation of these moves coincided with Ramos's appearance at the Feria de Abril celebrations in Seville, reflecting his close ties to the city and the future aspirations of the club's sporting project.
