
CAF Announces AFCON 2027 Qualifiers Draw for May 19
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the key dates for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted for the first time by three nations: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
CAF confirmed that the draw for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19. The venue for the draw was not specified.
The draw will feature 48 national teams, including the three co-host countries. These teams will be divided into 12 groups, with each group consisting of four teams.
The schedule for the six matchdays of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers is as follows:
Matchdays 1 and 2: September 21 to October 6, 2026
Matchdays 3 and 4: November 9 to 17, 2026
Matchdays 5 and 6: March 22 to 30, 2027
