AS FAR Players After RS Berkane Draw: 'Crucial Point Regains Top Spot, Ends First Half of Season in First Place'
AS FAR players Nolan Mbemba and Younes Abdelhamid affirmed that their match against RS Berkane, which ended in a goalless draw (0-0) in a postponed fixture from the 12th round of the Professional League, was a difficult and tightly contested encounter between the two teams. They highlighted that small details were decisive in the game.
Nolan Mbemba stated in a press release: “The match was somewhat complicated, and we found it difficult to get into it well from the start. We have played against them three times now and we are getting to know each other better, but in the end, I think a draw is a logical result because the match was evenly balanced.”
He added: “A goal of ours was disallowed, and I don't know if there was a penalty or a foul, but it's unfortunate that we were aiming for a win and had to settle for a draw. We will continue to focus on the upcoming matches.”
For his part, Younes Abdelhamid commented: “It was a difficult and closed match between two teams, and it was our third encounter against RS Berkane, so we expected a game of this nature.”
He continued: “We secured an important point that allowed us to regain the top spot and finish the first half of the season in first place, even though we had wanted all three points.”
Abdelhamid further explained: “Some matches go well and others don't, and today we weren't at our best, but we are progressing step by step and will try to perform better in the upcoming games.”
He concluded by saying: “We will prepare for the next match like any other encounter, but it is considered a small derby. With the start of the second half of the season, we must be better than in the first half and collect more points. The most important thing now is to think about winning the next match, God willing.”
