Officially: Yamal's Season with Barcelona Ends, Club Confirms Return Before World Cup
Barcelona announced on Thursday the official diagnosis of young player Lamine Yamal's injury, sustained during their Spanish League clash against Celta Vigo.
Yamal's injury caused significant concern within the Catalan club, as he collapsed during the match, which Barcelona ultimately won 1-0 in the 34th round of La Liga.
In an official statement, the club revealed that medical examinations confirmed the player suffered a hamstring tear in his left leg. He will now undergo a conservative treatment program in the coming period.
The statement added that Yamal will officially miss the remainder of the current season. However, there is optimism he will return in time to participate in the upcoming World Cup finals, set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Barcelona will be without their rising star for the highly anticipated "Clasico" match against Real Madrid, scheduled for May 10. The team currently leads the Spanish League with 82 points, holding a comfortable advantage over their closest rivals.
