Santos Extends Robinho Jr.'s Contract Until 2031
Brazilian club Santos FC has officially announced the contract renewal of its young forward Robinho Júnior, 18, the son of former international player Robson de Souza, known as "Robinho". The new deal extends his commitment to the club until March 30, 2031.
This new agreement replaces his previous contract, which was set to expire in 2027, and reflects the club's desire to secure the services of the promising forward. Robinho Júnior made his professional debut with the senior team last July and has since played 24 matches for the club, predominantly as a substitute.
The rising forward expressed his profound gratitude for the extension. Robinho Júnior stated, "I feel extremely happy, and I believe everyone knows how much I love this club. I was born here, and I have always been a Santos fan, so maintaining this connection for a longer period is very rewarding for me." He also acknowledged the significant responsibility that comes with representing a club renowned for developing global legends such as Pelé, Neymar, and Rodrygo Goes.
Robinho Júnior concluded by focusing on future challenges, adding, "The responsibility now increases with this renewal, but I am ready to give my best and help this club that I love so much even more." These developments occur as his father serves a prison sentence in São Paulo following a previous judicial ruling, placing the young player under the spotlight of fan expectations to continue his journey of excellence with his boyhood club.
