Levante Rejects Real Madrid Offer for Young Striker Carlos Espe
Felipe Miñambres, the former sporting director of Spanish club Levante, revealed that the club rejected an official offer from Real Madrid to sign 20-year-old striker Carlos Espe for their reserve team, Castilla.
The decision to reject the offer stemmed from the club's strong belief in the player's significant potential and high technical abilities. Levante preferred to retain Espe as part of their long-term project rather than letting him go to the Spanish capital early in his career.
Miñambres affirmed that the club had anticipated the prominence Espe is currently achieving in La Liga. He stated, "The offer was not accepted because we were confident that he is a player with immense potential."
Recent statistics validate this approach, as the young striker has scored eight goals this season. He has demonstrated exceptional attacking effectiveness, netting seven of his total goals in his last six starts for the team.
As part of securing his talent, the player, born in Tavernes de la Valldigna in 2005, signed a contract extending until 2028. The contract includes a release clause valued at €25 million. However, this value could be halved if Levante is relegated from their current division. Espe's journey with the club began after moving from Alzira's youth categories before establishing himself as one of the most promising talents in the current squad.
