Carteron Exposes 'Catastrophic' Physical State of Wydad Players Under Previous Staff
Wydad AC coach Patrice Carteron has criticized the work of the previous technical staff, led by Amine Benhachem, after revealing the difficult situation he found the team in following their recent defeat against Fath Union Sport.
Carteron confirmed that Wydad is in a “catastrophic” state, both physically and mentally. He pointed out that the team has not been able to complete a single training session with even half of its players, which he believes reflects the significant shortcomings of the previous preparation.
These revelations further fuel the criticism directed at the former technical staff, especially considering the string of injuries that have plagued several key players. This comes despite the team undergoing a lengthy preparation period and pre-season training camps, which seemingly failed to positively impact the players' readiness.
It is now clear that the current staff faces the challenge of rebuilding the team, both physically and mentally, within a tight timeframe. This is crucial to address the lingering effects of a previous phase that raised many questions within the Wydad camp, particularly concerning the team's declining performance and the players' lack of physical readiness.
