Alisson Becker Challenges Coach Slot's Injury Update, Aims for April Return
Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker has broken his silence, indirectly responding to statements made by his coach Arne Slot regarding his health status. This comes ahead of Liverpool's anticipated FA Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester City tomorrow, Saturday (12:45 GMT+1).
Slot had stated earlier today, Friday: "He will not be present against Paris Saint-Germain. We expect him to be ready by the end of the season."
However, the Brazilian goalkeeper was quick to dispel these concerns, clarifying that he has not suffered any new injury. He indicated that he is progressing well in his recovery and hopes to return to action before the end of the season, which contradicts his coach's timeline.
The goalkeeper wrote in a post on "X": "I have not suffered any new injury. I am in the treatment phase, and the plan is for me to be fully ready to play by the end of April."
