Real Madrid Officials Deny €160 Million Bid for Michael Olise
Officials at Spanish club Real Madrid have denied circulating reports regarding club president Florentino Pérez's alleged desire to pay €160 million to sign Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise. Spanish press reports had indicated that such a move would be an unexpected surprise, despite the technical management's admiration for the French player, whose profile aligns with the club's strategy of acquiring young talent.
German newspaper Bild had previously retracted its initial report, describing the alleged interest as a "wild rumor." However, transfer expert Ekrem Konur had conveyed Pérez's purported eagerness to finalize the deal by the end of the current season, stating, "Real Madrid is pushing to sign Michael Olise, and the club could make an offer that could reach 160 million euros to sign him." Similarly, journalist Christian Falk suggested that the Real Madrid president was aiming for a blockbuster signing, remarking, "Florentino Pérez is planning a masterstroke to make everyone forget the current season, and fans will be satisfied with another superstar."
Conversely, Bayern Munich is reportedly determined to retain Olise, who joined their ranks in 2024 for €60 million. The German management considers the player not for sale and has no intention of negotiating, particularly as his current contract extends until the summer of 2029 and does not include any release clause allowing him to depart. This resolute stance from the German side follows the player's impressive form, having scored 15 goals and provided 23 assists since his arrival at the Allianz Arena.
These reports surface amidst challenges facing Real Madrid's attack, notably due to Brazilian Rodrygo Goes' anterior cruciate ligament injury. Nevertheless, the Spanish club continues to refute the astronomical figures currently linked to the signing of the French star.
