
Jordan FA Appoints Lamia Boumehdi as Women's National Team Coach and Head of Women's Football Development
The Jordan Football Association (JFA) has announced the appointment of Moroccan coach Lamia Boumehdi to lead the 'Nashmiyat' (Jordanian women's national team). In addition to her coaching role, Boumehdi will also serve as an assistant to the JFA's Technical Director for women's football affairs and as an overseer for all women's national teams.
Boumehdi brings extensive experience in coaching and technical management. She notably led the women's team at TP Mazembe club in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 2022 to 2025. During her tenure, she also coached the Democratic Republic of Congo women's national team in 2025 and oversaw the club's football academy.
Furthermore, Boumehdi worked within the National Technical Directorate of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) between 2016 and 2022, where she supervised programs for preparing and qualifying women coaches in Morocco. She also led several Moroccan national youth teams and coached the Moroccan senior women's national team in 2020.
Boumehdi holds several coaching certifications accredited by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), most notably the CAF A coaching license. She is also a certified CAF instructor.
The Moroccan coach has achieved several notable accomplishments throughout her career, including winning the CAF Women's Champions League with TP Mazembe in 2024. She was also awarded the Best Women's Football Coach in Africa for 2024 and 2025, and was nominated among the top three coaches in Africa in 2025.
