Paulo Vanoli Announces Fiorentina Squad Rotation Against Raków Ahead of Crucial Survival Clash
Fiorentina coach Paulo Vanoli has announced a wide-ranging squad rotation strategy for the team's UEFA Europa Conference League match against Polish club Raków Częstochowa. This decision aims to manage player energy and prioritize the upcoming Serie A encounter against Cremonese, which is deemed crucial in the battle for survival.
Vanoli explained that players who start the continental fixture will likely not feature in the starting lineup for the subsequent league match, except in exceptional circumstances. He emphasized a significant reliance on second-string players and young talents. The coach commented on this approach, stating: “I don't want to play the role of Guardiola, as some have described me, but it's about the necessities of the stage. We are currently focusing on the cup, then we will immediately turn our attention towards Cremona because tomorrow's match is important for us, and we must respect the competition until the end.”
Regarding technical aspects, Fabiano Parisi is confirmed to start against Raków, while Fagioli will be rested. Christensen is expected to take over goalkeeping duties after being registered in the continental squad in place of the injured Lezzerini. Parisi stressed the importance of the upcoming match, saying: “We must win and qualify because we care a lot about this competition. Raków is a tough opponent, and we have a united group to face this challenge.”
On the physical readiness front, Italian international striker Moise Kean will miss the continental fixture due to injury. However, the technical staff aims to have him back in time for the Cremonese match. Fiorentina will face a resilient Polish opponent who has not suffered defeat and has conceded only two goals in six group stage matches in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
