Mourinho: "Lucho González Called Me a Traitor 50 Times"
Portuguese coach José Mourinho complained of being insulted during the Clássico match between his current team Benfica and his former club Porto, which ended in a 2-2 draw in the 25th round of the local league.
Mourinho explained that he was insulted by former Argentine player Lucho González. Both individuals share a significant history with Porto, before facing each other on Sunday from the sidelines.
Mourinho stated that Lucho called him a "traitor 50 times" due to his move this season to coach Benfica, Porto's traditional rival, where the Argentine works as an assistant coach.
The Portuguese coach, who was sent off during the match, added: "I don't understand why he said that. I don't mind if fans say it, but for such words to come from a fellow professional, that is regrettable."
He concluded by saying: "When I went to Porto, I gave my best for the club. I did the same thing at Real Madrid, Inter, Fenerbahçe, and everywhere I went. I call this professionalism. When Lucho left for Marseille, was his behavior like a traitor?"
