Young Moroccan defender Ismail Baaouf continues to shine in Dutch football, having been crowned the best player in the third period of the Dutch Second Division. This recognition comes after his strong performances with his club Cambuur during the recent period.
The 19-year-old Moroccan player's award was decided by the Dutch Second Division League Association, following his remarkable displays in the third period's matches. He notably excelled in the defensive line and effectively contributed to his team's results, emerging as one of the most prominent rising talents in the league this season.
Baaouf has become a regular fixture for Cambuur coach Henk de Jong, holding a key position in the defense and rarely missing from the starting lineup. This reflects the significant trust he has earned within the team due to his consistent performance levels.
The Moroccan defender triumphed over several other nominees for the award, including Ruud Nijmeijer of De Graafschap, Joshua Nassbett of Roda JC Kerkrade, and Devin Haen, a forward for Willem II.
