Pellegrini Confirms Real Betis Squad Readiness for Getafe La Liga Clash
Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the readiness of most of his squad for the upcoming clash against Getafe next Sunday at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, as part of Matchday 27 of the Spanish La Liga. Speaking at a press conference at the Luis del Sol Sports City on March 6, 2026, Pellegrini stated that the team aims to continue its upward trajectory in the domestic competition.
The Chilean coach revealed that absences would be limited to the trio of Isco, Amrabat, and Giovani Lo Celso due to long-term injuries. He confirmed Aitor Ruibal's availability to play, despite suffering from minor meniscus discomfort for several months. In the same vein, Pellegrini noted the return of Junior Firpo and Hector Bellerin to normal training, with both having been on the bench in recent matches as additional squad options.
Pellegrini praised the strength of the opponent and the difficulty of playing away from home. "Away from the results, Getafe remains a very difficult opponent like the rest of the teams in La Liga, and it is clear that they are going through a good period and have more confidence than before," Pellegrini stated. The coach also commented on the team's physical readiness, adding, "The team arrives in good condition, and as soon as any match ends, we analyze the positive and negative aspects. Football requires playing within a few days, and we are now focusing on the next confrontation."
Pellegrini also addressed the nature of the rivalry in Seville, stating, "I was not surprised by the feeling of frustration because we understand the extent of passion surrounding the derby match in Seville." Amidst recent positive results, Real Betis is currently the second-highest points earner in the second half of the season, trailing only Real Madrid. The coach also highlighted the absence of a permanent starting goalkeeper for both domestic and continental competitions, attributing it to the excellent performance of goalkeeper Alvaro.
